#LCinUSA Apr 2015 Part 2 Seattle, Washington

18 Apr 2015, Saturday PST (UTC/GMT -7 hour)
Seattle (SEA)

We are going to the Seattle Premium Outlets today! Before we set off, we checked in at the hotel our company booked for us for a one night stay.

Courtyard Seattle Downtown/Lake Union - Marriott
Address: 925 Westlake Avenue North, Seattle Washington 98109, USA
Contact: +1 206-213-0100
Website: http://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/seacd-courtyard-seattle-downtown-lake-union/

The view from my room was nothing much but my colleague FW got a room with really nice harbour view! I was satisfied with my stay here nonetheless. Toiletries, except for toothbrush & toothpaste, are provided.

Chipotle Mexican Grill

Operating Hours: 11am-10pm Daily
Contact: +1 206-362-0285
Website: http://chipotle.com/home

Settled our lunch at Chipotle located at Northgate Mall, the first regional shopping mall in the United States, which was on the way to the premium outlets. There are over 40 outlets in Seattle, you don't have to drive all the way here if you wish to try this place out.

Ordering food here is like how you order your sandwich/salad in Subway/Cedele. First, pick the "style" - Burrito, Bowl, Tacos or Salad (with the calories noted next to each "style"). Second, choose the meat/veg you want and the amount next to them are the prices, before 9.5% tax. Third, you can decide "what goes inside" by adding everything or selective. Only the guacamole is chargeable at additional USD 1.95+, with 230 calories.

My Bowl of goodness

Chips & Guacamole
Their guacamole was really good. Do add on chips & guacamole at USD 3.30+ to complete your Chipotle experience!

Seattle Premium Outlets
Address: 10600 Quil Ceda Blvd, Tulalip, WA 98271, United States
Operating hours: Regular Hours Mon - Sat: 10am-9pm, Sun: 10am-7pm (Do check out their website for operating hours during holiday weekends)
Contact: +1 360-654-3000
Website: www.premiumoutlets.com/seattle/

We arrived at the premium outlets at about 4.45pm and the they were closing at 9pm today! No time for any photography. It's all the same anyway! =P I got my supplies from Calvin Klein, Nine West and Hollister at a good deal! Also, I bought a new fringe bag from Michael Kors at 9pm before the store closes! Not much damage was done today as compared to me spending roughly USD 1000 in my previous trip to Premium Outlets at Las Vegas. =x

Nightlife in Seattle - E Pike Street, Capitol Hill

FW brought us to 2 different pubs that he frequent during his stay in Seattle before he moved to Singapore. The first one was Poquitos which serves Mexican food and delicious margaritas. The second pub was Unicorn which serves jello shots. What the hell is a jello shot?! It's an alcoholic shot in the form of jelly. E Pike Street was the liveliest street at night I've seen in Seattle so far. Well to be fair, I have only been to a few places in Seattle.

Poquitos
Address: 1000 E Pike St, Seattle, WA 98122
Operating Hours: 11am - 2am Daily
Happy Hours: Mon-Fri 11am-6pm; Sat-Sun 3pm-6pm
Contact: +1 206-453-4216 (12pm-10pm)
Website: http://www.vivapoquitos.com/Poquitos/VivaPoquitos.html

Poquitos has a nice, warm interior with its exquisite ironwork and tiles design. It was well-packed. If you are a foreigner, you have to bring your PASSPORT to the pubs in the states, not IC/ID 'cause they will not accept anything except passport to grant your entry.

Best Margarita I've ever had
Unicorn
Address: 1118 E Pike St, Seattle, WA 98122, United States
Operating Hours: Mon-Fri 2pm-Close; Sat-Sun 11am-Close
Contact: +1 206-325-6492
Website: http://www.unicornseattle.com/

Unicorn was a unique place to go to and I'd highly recommend you to drop by this place for their uncommon decoration and of course, jello shots.

It tasted really like jelly! *no harm at all*

Couldn't party till late today as we are going for a hike at Mount Rainier tomorrow morning. Nevertheless, it was a fun night with nice company!

19 Apr 2015, Sunday PST (UTC/GMT -7 hour)
Seattle (SEA)
Good morning Seattle!! (View from the elevator at Courtyard, Marriott)

With just 4h of sleep, I crawled out of bed, checked out from the hotel and met the rest of the people from my company to get ready for the hike at Mount Rainier National Park which was 2h drive from our hotel, Courtyard Seattle Downtown/Lake Union - Marriott.

Mount Rainier National Park
Address: Mt Rainier National Park, Washington 98304, USA
Website: http://www.nps.gov/mora/

It's a 10.8 miles (17.4 km) hike, from the starting point to Comet Falls (waterfall), to Green Lake as the final destination and back to the starting point. The total journey took us 5 hours, including some relaxing time at the falls and the lake. Enjoy the photos!

Comet Falls

With the beautiful TS and lucky FW

Yes, I made it to see the waterfall!
Continued our journey up the mountain, towards the Green Lake. My feet started to hurt as I was wearing boots. I thought there would be snow! *idiot* >.<

Beautiful Green Lake

Snow, higher up in the mountain
I have to say that it was totally worth the climb to the Green Lake. It's really beautiful, a perfect place to meditate for sure! We spent nearly half an hour relaxing and resting at the lake, took photos and played with a butterfly that landed on FW's cheek and LQ's hand. Not sure if it's the same butterfly though. On our way back, we saw wild deers and a mountain hamster (please tell me what it's call if you know, thanks!).

2 Wild Deers spotted!! Can you see them both?

Bye my deer~

So cute!!

I was so afraid to bump into a bear on our way back! There was some weird noise at the back where some of us stopped to listen more carefully and phew~ it's just the sound of the electric saw. And so, we finished our hike, safe and sound. =)

Checked in to our second hotel, nearer to our office location, in the evening after our hike at Mount Rainier. Damn, why give me a room with 2 beds. =/ I occupied one of the bed with my stuff, for superstitious reason. Lol.

Every room has a small balcony that overlooks the sea

The Pike Brewing Company

Dinner was about 0.5 mile (800m) away (10-15min walk) from the hotel, next to the Pike Place Market, along 1st Ave, at The Pike Brewing Company.

I really like the interior of bars in USA

Pike Pub Chicken N' Brie USD 13+
I was starving after the 5h hike as I only had breakfast that day with some snacks (insufficient but thankful for people who offered me the bites!). I finished my Chicken N' Brie really fast. It was not bad. I heard from my colleague that the Wild Salmon Sandwich USD 17+ was good.

That's all for my first weekend in Seattle. Work's gonna start tomorrow and no, the fun didn't end here. Will draft my part 3 on Seattle soon! Cheers~
